Technically Speaking
A friendly tech podcast brand that makes complex ideas feel simple, social, and easy to understand.
The Concept
Technically Speaking is a podcast that turns complex ideas about technology into easy, engaging conversation. The show brings together a group of industry professionals who discuss topics from smart buildings to data centres in the same way friends might talk over coffee.
The name captures that spirit of informal expertise. The identity needed to feel smart but approachable, professional but never stiff. A reflection of clear thinking delivered with warmth and humour.
The Design
At the centre of the identity is a retro-style coffee-cup mascot. Playful and full of character, it represents the atmosphere of informal conversation that defines the show.
The logotype is paired with a simple tagline, “Brewing fresh tech ideas, one episode at a time.” Together they create a mark that feels approachable, distinctive, and instantly recognisable.
Episode One
In our first episode, we speak with Trevor Payne, Director of Estates at the University of Birmingham, who shares insight into the university’s Smart Campus journey. The conversation explores how innovation and technology are redefining what PTS calls the Three E’s. Experience, Efficiency, and Environmental Sustainability.
This episode sets the tone for the series: thoughtful dialogue about how design, technology, and collaboration create places that work better for people and the planet.
